Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Points represent locations of species; areas of possible distribution of species are represented by polygons.Accuracy of classifier:
Points represent locations at which herbarium specimens of the species were found. Polygons were created by generalizing the original locations of herbarium specimens. Species location data were obtained from an electronic database of species location coordinates developed by the N.I. Vavilov Institute (1992). All distribution area borders are arranged in accordance with herbarium data. Two locations of species (the most northern and the most eastern) are not included in the area because supplementary field investigations need to be carried out to confirm information about distribution of this species in this territory.Method of map production:
Published literature was reviewed, including atlases, monographs and papers. Occurrence data were obtained from herbarium specimens, floras, monographs and papers. Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist, together with the GIS specialist, drew a new plant distribution area based on compiled data. All distribution area borders are arranged in accordance with herbarium data. Two locations of species (the most northern and the most eastern) are not included in the area because supplementary field investigations need to be carried out to confirm information about distribution of this species in this territory.Reference citations:
