Accuracy of classifier:

Maps were created using generalized information about species distribution from published sources, taking into account the arable territory of the USSR.

Mapping procedure:

The distribution area map was created using the arable territory map for USSR (Koroljeva et al 2003) and published data (Gosudarstvennyi reestr, 1996, 2003; Tulupnikov, 1960; Korenev, 1990; Niklyaeva, 1990). Main distribution area covers arable territory in the European region of the USSR until 50-51 degrees of northern latitude, as well as the Chel'abinsk and Kustanay regions. Small areas of cultivation are situated in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan (Vehov, 1978; Vasil.ev, 1953; Kul'turnaya flora, 1935). Area borders have been defined more precisely by VIR specialist T.N. Smekalova.
