Method of map construction:

The cultivated area of Lotus corniculatus was determined based on agroclimatic, natural and economical principles of former USSR countries. The vast was amounts of published information were analyzed. The final map was constructed by generalizing regions. maps, arable-lands. maps (dark blue polygon), and maps of lands permitted for cultivation, not including non-arable lands (light blue polygon). Only those lands where Lotus corniculatus is used in crop rotation were taken into account.
