Area is subdivided into zones of strong and frequent (3-4 times per 10 years) and weaker development.

Procedure of map drawing:

The zones of distribution and harm are allocated by results of the analysis of the open published materials. The general information on life cycle of the pathogen and on host-plants is taken from the book by V.F. Peresypkin with specifications from the publications by Ishkova T.I. et al. (2000). Zones of the disease harm are drawn after information taken from the articles of T.I. Ishkova et al. (2000); Sanin S.S., Makarov A.A. (1999); Sanin S.S. (1995), Lazu M.N. (1991); Andrushchenko A.V. et al. (1990); Nikulina N.K. et al. (1966); Dzhiembaev Z.T. (1974); Shopina V.V., Chumakov A.E. (1972); Kobakhidze L.M. (1971); Gavare L.A. (1979), and from the book "Levels and tendencies ..." (Eds. Novozhilov K.V., Zakharenko V.A.) (2000). Blank map with harm zones of the Barley Powdery Mildew was scanned. Registration and vectoring of the raster map were performed by standard tools of GIS.
