Date of creation:
11.12.2007.Scale:
1:20 000 000.Accuracy of map:
It is created on information taken from the open published literature and maps of scale 1:33 000 000.Projection:
"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.Basic contents:
Vector map consisting of 2 layers. The area and zone of pest damage are shown by polygons.Accuracy of the classifier:
All regions of rice growing form an area of ubiquitous distribution of A. besseyi (data from Turkmenistan are absent). The regions with high severity are depicted, where highly affected rice cultivars are growing (for example, cv. Dubovskii 129) and yield losses amount to 75%, namely the North Caucasus, Lower Volga region and Primorskii Territory.Method of map production:
The zone of wide distribution and high severity of A. besseyi are marked and the areas of its presence are shown on a blank map with the regions of rice growing and with political divisions of the Former Soviet Union. The results of 1960s surveys of rice fields by some scientists (summarized by Kir'yanova & Krall', 1971) have served as sources of the data. The present phytosanitary situation is not investigated.Reference citations:
