Date of creation:
20.01.2007.Scale:
1:20 000 000.Accuracy of map:
It is created on information taken from the open published literature and map of scale 1: 25 000 000.Projection:
"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.Basic content:
Vector map. Area and zone of damage are shown by polygons.Accuracy of the classifier:
Within the limits of the C. pyrivora area in the USSR territory, the zone of low damage is allocated where the pest has economic significance. Loss of young fruits can reach 50-90% if there are no control measures (Vasil.ev & Livshits, 1984).Method of map production:
The map is compiled by results of the analysis of the open published materials. The C. pyrivora area is outlined according to reference data on the species distribution (Mamaev, 1969; Mamaeva & Mamaev, 1981; Vasil.ev & Livshits, 1984; Fedotova & Kovalev, 2001). The published materials describe the Pear Midge distribution in Latvia (Fedotova & Kovalev, 2001) and southern Ukraine; i.e., Crimea (Mamaev, 1969; Mamaeva & Mamaev, 1981; Vasil.ev & Livshits, 1984). Note by Polyakov et al. (1984) on the species presence in Middle Asia and Kazakhstan are not supported by original references. Harming activity of the species is reported in the Crimea only.Reference citations:
