Distribution area of the Cereal Cyst Nematode was determined following an analysis of references and original data. The zone of high pest damage indicates regions in which high population density and the presence of the aggressive C pathotype are characteristic.Mapping procedure:
Distribution area of the Golden Nematode and the zone of high damage (Middle Volga region, CIS-Urals, the Central-Chernosem region and Western Siberia) were drawn on a map that depicted the areas of the greatest distribution of grain crops and state and regional borders of the CIS countries and Baltic States. The 1960-70 survey served as a primary source of data. The survey results have been generalized in Polyakov et al. (1979) and further supplemented with the latest data (Shiabova, 1982; Gus.kova et al., 1991). The raster map showing the distribution area and damage was registered and vectorized using standard GIS technologies.Sources of data:
