Map was created based on information taken from the open-published literature and maps of scale 1:33 000 000Projection:

Vector map. Area of species distribution is shown by polygons. Zones of recorded mass outbreak are shown by polygons.Accuracy of classifier:
Zone of damage of O. florum is located within the area of industrial growing of grain crops (winter wheat, rye, barley). Within the area the zone of low damage is outlined, where the pest population density has economic significance, being accounted in a complex of stem-damaging cereal flies having the following economic threshold. This is 6-10% of main shoots infested and 40-50 flies on the average per 100 net sweeps during seedling growth and tilling stages (Tanskii et al., 1988). O. florum is sometimes able to exceed considerably this complicated threshold in some fields (Vilkova, 1963; Kuznetsova, 1969; Zagovora, 1981), causing yield losses to 5% (Pavlyuchuk, 1974).Method of map production:
Scientists were given maps with boundaries of Oblasts and arable lands. After reviewing historic literature, species distribution was hand drawn on maps. If data were on the Oblast-level, distribution is on the Oblast level. In some cases, Oblast.s are further refined by boundaries of the Arable Land Map (Koroljeva et al., 2003). Hand drawn maps were scanned, georeferenced and vectorized. The distribution area was determined according to the following sources: In the north-western and north-eastern European parts of Russia by Soos (1984) and Shchegolev (1934); in the eastern area by Pertseva (2002); in the south-eastern area by Kuznetsova (1969). The border for the area of low pest damage in the Ukraine was determined according to Rogochaya (1974) and Zagovora et al. (1981). This zone is adjusted in the Karachai-Cherkessia and Stavropol Territory according to Pavlyuchuk (1970, 1972).Reference citations:
