Date of creation:

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

It is created on materials of the map with scale 1:33 000 000, on the basis of information taken from literature.

Projection:

.Alber.s Equal Conica for the USSR., 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map, which consists of 2 thematic layers. Area of distribution and zone of damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Within the area of distribution the zone of low damage only is established according to the extent of damage to fruit crops. In zone of low damage maximum harmfulness of the Flax Thrips is not more than 2 points under the 5-points scale of harmfulness (Kopaneva et al., 1981).

Procedure of map drawing:

Data from the open publications are used for allocation of area and zone of pest damage. A map of the area is drawn after publications of Ermolaev (1940), Yakhontov (1964), Zhil'tsova & Derbenyova (1972), Tanskii & Velikan' (1981), Pavlov (1983). In the former USSR the area includes territory of flax growing from the western state borders northward to Arkhangelsk Region and eastward to Krasnoyarsk Territory. The borders of damage zone are given after Ermolaev (1940), Anonym (1968), Zhil'tsova & Derbenyova (1972), Tanskii & Velikan' (1981), Pavlov (1983). In the former USSR the zone of low damage comprises the territory of flax growing within Smolensk, Tver', Vologda, Kirov Regions, Udmurtia and Mari El Republics, Omsk Region, Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories.
