Systematic position.

Synonyms.

A. pratensis L. subsp. laguriformis (Schur) Tzvel.

Morphology and biology.

Perennial grass; height is 30 to 80 cm. Stem is erect. Leaf is green, plain. Lingua has very short bristles on the back side. Inflorescence is short cylindrical tassel. Glumes have keel with numerous hairs 1.5-2 mm length. Cross-pollinated, wind-pollinated. Flowers and matures July-August. Seed and vegetative reproduction. Chromosomal number is unknown.

Distribution.

The European part of the former USSR (Carpathian region); Middle Europe (Carpathian).

Ecology.

Species occurs in grass-plots, stony slopes, rocky soils and in upper mountainous zones.
