Accuracy of the map:

The map is based on data of a 1:25 000 000 scale map, specified according to herbarium materials.

Projection:

Basic contents:

The map is a vector file consisting of 1 basic and 3 subject layers. The species range is represented by polygons and dots.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

The dots represent information on the species localities according to herbarium (1) and published sources (2), the polygons - generalized information on the species distribution.

Method of the map construction:

The range of Anabasis salsa is constructed on the basis of herbarium materials of LE, with account of published maps of the range (Musaev, 1969) and the range part (Koropachinskiy, Vstovskaya, 1983). The species is confined to steppe and semidesert zones. The final range is disjunctive, consists of 2 polygons and separate dots. The main polygon embraces Caspian Lowland, Lower Volga area, Kalmykia, Altai, Kazakhstan and Trans-Unguz Karakum in Turkmenistan. The second polygon is situated in Eastern Transcaucasia. Dots beyond the borders of the polygons represent sporadic localities of the species, scattered throughout Central Asia, Russia and Ciscaucasia.
