Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Locations of species are represented by points; area of possible distribution of species is represented by polygons.

Exactness of classifier:

Light-colored points represent species locations referenced in published sources. Dark-colored points represent locations of the species reported in the VIR database (N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Industry). Polygons are based on published sources, herbarium samples, political boundaries and ecological descriptions.

Method of map construction:

In order to construct the distribution area of Bromopsis Korotkiji, a published map of species distribution areas (Malyshev and Peshkova, 1990) and herbaria data from the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Industry (VIR) in St. Petersburg) were used. The species is distributed throughout Russia, Mongolia and Northeastern China. The final species distribution area within Russia is shown by three polygons (green line) and separate points, which correspond to published data on species distribution (Tzvelev, 1976; Brezhnev and Korovina, 1980; Malyshev and Peshkova, 1990). The points, which were not used to construct the borders of the main distribution area, represent single sites at which the species has been found. The distribution area takes into account the ecological preferences of the species.
