Taxonomical position.

Morphology and biology.

Perennial cereal. The plant forms friable tussocks with creeping rhizomes. Vaginas bare and closed for 2/3 of their length. Leaves polygon-shaped and smooth on the outside. Spikelets glaucescent. The bottom floral scales are lanceolate, 5.5-6.5 mm in length, with awn 0.8-2 mm in length. Blossoms in June-July. Anemophilous. 2n = ?.

Distribution.

Species is endemic to Yakutia (the Kobyaj district and the vicinity of Lake Nidzheli).

Ecology.

Occurs in loose sand.

Use and economic value.

Fodder plant.
