The map is a vector file consisting of 1 basic and 2 subject layers. The species range is represented by polygons and dots.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

The dots represent information on the species localities: 1 - reliable data from herbarium and published sources; the polygons (1) - generalized information on the species distribution from published sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of the map construction:

The data from the herbarium materials of LE and WIR, a published map (Grossheim, 1952), and published data (Grossheim, 1945, Vassilchenko, 1987) were used for constructing the range of Medicago denticulata. The species range consists of five polygons and dots. The first polygon is located in southern Crimea, the second one in the Caucasus, the third and the fourth in southwestern Kopet-Dagh, the fifth lies within Tajikistan. The range border is drawn taking account of typical conditions of the species occurrence (the species occurs in the zone of ephemerous low-montane vegetation). Dots beyond the polygons indicate local species localities.
