Vector map. Area of species distribution is shown by polygons, while actual location occurrence is shown by points.Accuracy of classifier:
Point data were obtained from published sources and herbarium specimens. Polygons are based on published sources, herbarium samples, and field surveys by the authors.Method of map production:
Published literature was reviewed, including atlases, monographs and papers. Occurrence data were obtained from herbarium specimens, floras, monographs and papers. Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist, together with the GIS-specialist, drew a new plant distribution area based on compiled data. The following sources were used to determine the mapped distribution area: Shelyag-Sosonko (1997), Grossgheim (1939), Tzvelev (1974), and Malyshev & Peshkova (1990, 1979). Within the European part of the former USSR and Siberia, the species is distributed throughout the zone of coniferous-broad-leaved and broad-leaved woods, growing in dry pine forests and dry land meadows, and the steppe zone (except for dry steppes of the Bottom Volga region). In Central Asia and Kazakhstan, it is found in the steppe zone and in the central mountain region of Tyan-Shang, as well as in the mountains of the Ala Taus and Pamir-Alay ranges. In the Caucasus, it is found everywhere except in the Kura lowland.Reference citations:
