Taxonomical position.

Family Poaceae Benth, Genus Poa L.

Morphology and biology.

Long-term cereal. The plant forms creeping rhizomes. Stalks reach heights of 10-45 cm; vegetative shoots rise arcuately. Leaves usually grouped lengthways; individual leaves 1-3 mm in width. Ligulas of the top leaves are 2-3 mm in length. Panicle oblong, with smooth branchlets. Spikelets 5-6 mm in length. The bottom floral scales are pubescent on veins. Blossoms in June. Anemophilous; apomictic. 2n =?.

Distribution.

Endemic to Eastern Siberia.

Ecology.

Occurs in damp coastal meadows, in sands and among pebbles.

Use and economic value.

Fodder plant.
