For a basis of map of an area the coordinates received according to herbarium LE, and the published maps have been taken from the monographies "Flora of Siberia" (1990), "Flora of Central Siberia" (1979) and "Fodder cereals of Yakutai flora" (1982).The species distributed in steppes of Northern Aral territory, Kazakh Fine Mounds and Western Siberia. In Eastern Siberia and Yakutia it is replaced by close to it Psathyrostachys juncea subsp. hyalantha (authors of "Florae of Siberia" consider these subspecies as two separate species P.caespitosa and P.hyalantha).
