The map is based on data of 1:20 000 000 and 1:25 000 000 scale maps, corrected according to herbarium materials.Projection:
"Albers Equal-Area Conic Projection for USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0Basic contents:
The map is a vector file consisting of polygons and dots. The localities of the species are represented by dots.Accuracy of the qualifier:
Dark dots represent information on the species localities according to herbarium materials of V.L.Komarov Botanical Institute [LE] and N.I.Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Industry [WIR].Method of the map construction:
The main part of the Alpine currant range is in Western Europe. Concerning the species distribution within the former USSR, we follow OA.Svjaseva.s view (Sokolov et al., 1977, 1980), in the Leningrad Region we follow LI.Krupkina (Budantsev, Yakovlev..., 2006). In the Northwest (Leningrad and Novgorod Regions, Baltic countries), in Belorussia and the Carpathians, the species distribution is limited by its ecological preferences; it occurs in riverside shrubberies on rocky habitats and in forest fringes. The species range is represented here by three polygons, West European, Carpathian and Caucasian. The polygons are drawn by means of generalization of data obtained from LE and WIR herbarium materials, published range maps (Sokolov et al., 1980) and published data (Budantsev, Yakovlev..., 2006; Grossgeim, 1930; Juzepchuk, 1939).References:
