Authors:

Object specialist N.N. Luneva, GIS-specialist I.A. Budrevskaya.

Date of creation:

15.03.2004.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of map:

It is created on information taken from the open-published literature and maps of scale 1:13 000 000 - 1:80 000000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector map. Area of distribution is shown by polygons (main distribution) and by dots (sporadic distribution). Zone of harmfulness is shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

The weed area is subdivided into zones of main distribution and harm, and places of sporadic distribution. The zones of weediness are shown - established by criteria of occurence (50% of fields where this species is found) and abundance, expressed as projective cover of this species in the field (more than 15 % to the field area (Tanskii et al., 1998).

Procedure of map drawing:

The map is made by results of the analysis of the open-published cartographical materials and literature. A map of distribution of Setaria pumila in Russia in 1935 (Volkov, 1935) is used as a basis; it has been checked by data on distribution of this species in floristic areas (Bush, Komarov, 1939) and corrected according to Nikitin (1983).The zone of main distribution in the European part of Russia and adjacent CIS countries is confirmed and specified after Hulten E., Fries M. (1986) and the recent literature data (Malysheva, 1991; Vasil.ev, Degtyarenko, 1988; Green enemies, 1973; Nikitin, 1983; Ul.yanova, 1988; Vorob.ev et al., 1988; Geideman, 1954; Zhukova, 1954). Distribution of the species in the Northern Caucasus and Transcaucasia is also confirmed by the recent sources (Galushko, 1978; Grossgeim, 1939; Dorozhkina, Chekunov, 1988; Murusidze, Gogoladze, 1988; Agaronyan, 1988). Expansion of the zone of main distribution of the species on the territory of Western and Middle Siberia is confirmed by data of Taskaeva (1988), Kushnirenko (1949), Vasil.eva & Matsenko (1964), Nikitina (1983); Fedotkina et al. (1978), Grebenkina M.V. (2000), and Krasnoborov & Kashina (1979); it is also coordinated with the limits of zone of steppes and forest-steppes and supplemented with herbarium data. Spreading of the species along the territory of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, as contrast to the territory specified by Volkov, is confirmed by the data of Pavlov (1956), Vasil.eva and Matsenko (1964), Zhurakulov (1988), Urozhok V.H. (1975), Nikitin (1983). The species distribution in Eastern Siberia is specified according to Flora of Transbaikalia (1969), Malyshev & Peshkova (1979,1990), and Buddo (1969). In the Far East the zone of main distribution is confirmed by the data of Tolmachev (1966), Voroshilov V.N. (1966), Leifa V.I. (1988), Kharkevich S.S. (1985). The zone of weediness is determined after Nikitin (1983), being specified by the data on abundance, frequency of occurrence or harmfulness of the weed, available in the below-mentioned references. Places of sporadic distribution are specified after Popov (1957), Volkov, (1935), Hulten E., Fries M. (1986), Malyshev & Peshkova (1979,1990), Kharkevich (1985) and herbarium data.
