Object description Download GIS-layersAuthors:
Object specialist - O.E. Kravchenko,GIS-specialist - I.A. Budrevskaya.
Data of creation:
29.10.2003.Scale:
1:20 000 000.Accuracy of map:
Created using maps of natural scale 1:10 000 000-1:80 000 000 and on literature data.Projection:
"Alber's Equal Area Conic on the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.Basic contents:
Vector map. Area of distribution is shown by polygons (basic distribution) and by points (sporadic distribution). Zone of harmfulness is shown by polygons.Accuracy of classifier:
The area is divided into zones of basic distribution, sporadic distribution, and area of harmfulness. The zones of distribution and harmfulness are established according to the analysis of open-published maps and literature and coincides with the old area of weed distribution in the Arable Land Map (Koroljeva et al, 2003).Method of map production:
Published literature was reviewed, including Atlases, monographs and papers. The area of species distribution was determined according to the following sources: (Hulten & Fries, 1986); (Reg. Dis. Weeds, USSR, 1935); (VIR). The area of sporadic distribution was determined according to the following sources: For the Caucasus (VIR Herbarium), (Grossgeim, 1949). Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist together with the GIS specialist, drew a composite weed distribution area based on compiled data.Reference citations:
