The weed area is subdivided into two zones, one representing species distribution, and the second where weed is considered a serious pest. Points represent locations where sporadic occurrence has been reported.Method of map production:
Published literature was reviewed, including Atlases, monographs and papers. Occurrence data were obtained from herbarium specimens, floras, monographs and papers. Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist, together with the GIS specialist, drew a composite weed distribution area based on compiled data. The areas of distribution and harmfulness are established according to the analysis of open-published maps and literature. The base map was taken from .The regions of the distribution of the main weeds in the USSR. was used. It was enlarged within the Krasnodar Territory and Caucasus based on Grossgeim (1949). Additions were made in Karelia based on Ramenskaya (1960). The city of Kirov was added to the places of sporadic distribution based on Tarasova (2003). Zone of harmfulness is depicted according to: (Kozlovskaya & Sisonovich, 1966); (Sammersov et al., 2000).Reference citations:
